Hello,
The District had some vandalism at the pool this morning, a bag of dog poop was thrown in the pool, which caused a delay in opening, chemicals had to be adjusted and filters cleaned.
Also last week, the women’s locker room was vandalized. In this case, toilet paper was thrown all over, paper towels soaked with water were thrown onto the ceiling, water sprayed all over the locker room, smeared soap on the mirrors, and the shower heads were broken. The cleaning company has cleaned up the mess and the showers heads fixed, all expenses and time wasted on vandalism. This issue also occurred in the men’s locker room several times about a month back. Please note: Due to health code reasons, not having working showers at the Community Center and Pool would close the facility until repairs had been made. The District tries to keep spare parts on hand for the showers just for these reasons. Once again, an added expense and time due to vandalism.
The District contacted the police today in reference to the poop issue in the pool and the locker vandalism, we are going through the security cameras to see if we can determine who is responsible.
The District asks you to talk with all members of your family about this. Please help us impress upon everyone the importance of respecting the Community Center and Pool, and what the effect of vandalism causes all of us, i.e. the Community Center and Pool closure, and the cost of the time and materials it takes to clean up the vandalism.
Please help monitor the Community Center and Pool area and if you or anyone in your family knows about these actions or see things happening; please give us a call or let one of the guards know. Reminder: Kids under 17 should be accompanied by an adult when inside the Community Center.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the District. Our office hours are 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
